These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Pitch Gauge for Roofers (the "App"), provided by Fins Out Media ("we," "us," or "our").
By downloading, accessing, purchasing, or using Pitch Gauge for Roofers, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
Important: Pitch Gauge for Roofers is a field measurement utility. Readings generated by the App are for convenience and should be independently verified before relying on them for estimates, materials, safety planning, construction work, or code compliance.
1. Purpose of Pitch Gauge for Roofers
Pitch Gauge for Roofers is designed to help users measure and reference roof pitch and roof slope using an iPhone.
The App is provided as a convenience and productivity tool. It is not a substitute for professional engineering, architectural, construction, inspection, safety, surveying, estimating, or other professional advice.
2. Accuracy of Readings
Pitch Gauge for Roofers displays readings based on device sensors, device placement, selected units, and any baseline or zero setting applied by the user.
Actual roof pitch or slope requirements can differ from App readings for many reasons, including:
- Incorrect or approximate device placement
- Phone case thickness, camera bumps, or device accessories
- Uneven, damaged, or irregular roof surfaces
- Sensor limitations, calibration differences, or device movement
- Use of a zero baseline or held reading
- Rounding or unit conversions
- Site conditions or changes made during construction
You are responsible for independently verifying measurements, specifications, manufacturer requirements, code requirements, and material decisions before beginning work or relying on a reading.
3. No Professional Advice
Nothing provided through Pitch Gauge for Roofers constitutes engineering, structural, architectural, roofing, contracting, inspection, safety, or other professional advice.
Pitch Gauge for Roofers does not determine whether a roof, repair, installation, estimate, or project complies with building codes, safety requirements, manufacturer specifications, permits, or applicable laws and regulations.
Consult a qualified professional when your project requires professional evaluation or when you are uncertain about project requirements.
4. User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- How you place, hold, zero, and use the device
- Reviewing and verifying measurements
- Determining whether a reading is appropriate for your job or use case
- Following applicable roofing, jobsite, ladder, and fall-safety practices
- Complying with applicable codes, permits, regulations, and safety requirements
- Decisions made based on readings generated by Pitch Gauge for Roofers
5. Pitch Gauge Pro
Pitch Gauge for Roofers may offer optional Pro functionality through a one-time in-app purchase.
Pitch Gauge Pro may include features such as persistent saved readings, names, notes, export, and sharing tools. Available features may evolve as the App is updated.
Purchases made through the Apple App Store are processed by Apple and are also subject to Apple's applicable terms, policies, and refund procedures.
6. Local Data Storage
Pitch Gauge for Roofers stores saved readings and notes locally on your device.
You are responsible for maintaining your device and any backups you consider necessary. Fins Out Media is not responsible for loss of locally stored readings, notes, exports, or other information resulting from device loss, device failure, deletion of the App, software updates, data corruption, or other circumstances.
7. Exports and Shared Information
Exports, copied readings, or shared summaries generated by Pitch Gauge for Roofers are provided for convenience and informational purposes. Their inclusion in a message, note, file, or report does not guarantee accuracy or make them a professional engineering, construction, contractual, inspection, or supplier document.
You are responsible for reviewing exported or shared information before relying on, distributing, or sharing it.
